Summer is a season that people eagerly keep waiting for. And why not, you get to run around on beaches, wear loose, short clothes, sip on refreshing chilled cocktails and mocktails, and whatnot.

It is the best season for traveling as well, especially the cities with lots of beaches. You get to dive in the chilling water, and the soft breeze that caresses your wet skin leave you in pure bliss, it's an amazing feeling and I get it, when the scorching sun is burning fire all you need is refreshing cool drinks to calm your stomach heat and dive in the lap of cool and soothing ocean.

These all are fun activities, I agree, but it is also a fact that summer is sweaty, and for the people who sweat a lot, it's annoying. (that would be me).

So in this post, I'm going to share 5 reasons why I (absolutely) hate summers and 5 reasons why I love them. Let's start with the good aspects first,

5 reasons why I love summer

  • Summer fruits: isn't it obvious, who doesn't love summer fruits? Watermelons, oranges, grapes, papayas, strawberries, and whatnot. They aren't just tasty but are also very nutritious and keeps our body hydrated which is very important if you live in a country where summers are extremely painful.
  • Refreshing drinks: a sip of the refreshing cocktail, mocktail, or fruit juice sends you into a different world entirely. It not only soothes your soul but also helps you energize again.
  • Short clothes: as much as I hate summers, no other season gives you the comfort of wearing short skirts with crop tops, or a flowy gown or lose fitting clothes and that's the best thing I love about summers. You can wear whatever you want especially when you're home alone, that a plus.
  • Air conditioners: summer means a room with a blasting air conditioner. You don't wanna get out of your room, at all. Just sit in a room, get a little cozy and work from the comfort of your bed.
  • Swimming in the ocean (or pool): for the ones who love swimming, splashing water on your partner, sibling, or friends while having a group swimming time is not just fun, but it's the best thing ever. Getting your feet under the cold water when the hot sun is blazing above your head feels like heaven.

5 reasons why I hate summer

  • scorching heat: as a person who sweats a lot, I hate it. Not just the heat of the summer sun, especially the afternoon time, is harmful to your skin, it's equally annoying. All I want is to get in the comfort of my cool room and relax.
  • Sweat: well, doesn't heat and sweat are interlinked? Yes they are and ill say it again, I hate it. Every part of your body sweats, be it your armpits, under boobs, thighs, and even the scalp, and it's annoying at another level. Don't even get me started about the red burning rashes it leaves. Those are itchy and make you uncomfortable, plus they don't go away easily.
  • Clothes: as a person whose favorite color is black, it's a disaster. You can't go out wearing black outside because it's an enemy of heat. The whole time you keep regretting why you wore it. But that's not it, sweat is the biggest enemy here. It's hard to decide what to wear, so you don't look like a billboard and in the end, you don't have anything to wear.
  • Heatwaves and summer loo: there is no doubt that these are the worst. Absolute worst, and even deadly if you decide to step out in spite of the warnings. A big no and equally irritating because you can't do anything. They make you exhausted without doing anything.
  • Sleep: if you have a habit of sleeping with a blanket on that you can understand my pain. If yore in an air-conditioned room, good but if not, or the electricity decided to backstab you, you know sleep is out of the option. You keep turning and tossing but what you get is sweat-drenched clothes, body, pillow, sheets, and blanket. Everything is covered with your sweat, and you can't help but become a night owl even when you are exhausted like anything.

These were my reasons, I would love to hear your opinions and if you agree with me, welcome to the club!!
